No Haynes manual for Octavia II?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I've just been down to Halfords to get a Haynes manual for my Octavia II, and couldn't find one. I then had a look on Haynes' web site, and it appears that there isn't one!

Is there an equivalent available anywhere?

Mike.

You'd be better off getting a DVD copy of Elsawin (the stuff dealers use)

Plenty on Ebay for around £10.

Use the search facility!

There is no manual for it but you can either get the illegal copy of Elsa or get a mk5 golf manual as they are practically the same car.

You are joking I presume?! It's hopeless......

It's not bad, I find what I want easily and easy found plenty of subjects just by typing Haynes.

Any experience of this software?

I bought a similar item for my previous Vauxhall car and found it very hard to use. Never did get much info from it.

Elsa is pretty good really all torque settings and pics. Make sure it's 3.4 or above as lower don't cover Skoda. Some even torrent it and get it free :o

Note, ELSA is not compatable with Vista!

I bought the Haynes Golf5 manual and do not rate it as it has only sketchy cover of the PD140 and nothing on the DSG box - the chassis is the same though. Also have ElsaWin and Etka which give useful info but I have always preferred a printed Hanyes manual for all my previous cars

Or Windows 7 for that matter. Though if you are lucky to have Pro/Ultimate you can always use XP Mode.

Wondered why mine wasnt working :(

It is 5 years since it came out , it is about time they did one

Or install XP on a Virtual Machine within Vista/WIN7

Lol - very little is, including itself!

Sorry to have to say this but RUBBISH! ive got Elsawin 3.7 which covers all vag brands inc skoda from years 2005 to 2012 on my vista powered laptop with no problems at all, also got fully updatable Etka running as well.

Anyone know if Elsa will work on 64bit win7?

I can also confirm I have it working on Windows 7.

The instructions I got with mine says it won't work with 64 bit
