I'm buying a Fab VRS, now I need a Garage

Featured Replies

Good morning Skoda Fans,

(If you're not a skoda fan then I wonder why you're reading this).

Anyway I am picking up my 53 plate Fab VRS with 57k on it at the weekend. It hasn't had a cambelt done yet so that is the first thing on the lest. Apparently the local dealer told him they're fine till 84K.....Jokers.

So I'll be getting that done as soon as I get it, water pump and all.

What I'm after is if anyone know's a good VAG specialist in Hertfordshire? I have had a quite from Volkswagen Techniker in Essex for £265. Anyone used them? And is this a fair price?

Cheers.

Flip.

where abouts in Herts are you?

Unit18 can't be too far.....

That seems like a good prices for the SE of England.

It sort of depends how far you want to drive really. There's Brown's at Thame, which should be fairly close to you (PM Ninja_Alex for a quote), then if you're prepared to go to Milton Keynes there are more VAG specialists than you can shake a stick at. Inde-Tech and VAG-Tech get a very good name. APS are at Brackley and they're very friendly even if the workshop full of Audi R8s does look a bit forbidding and (well worth a day out in my opinion) is Unit 18 half-way between Milton Keynes and Wellingborough (PM AllyTech for a quote).

Browns and Unit 18 are forum sponsors and long-term contributors to these forums and are well worth seeking out and supporting in my opinion. £50 saved on the work itself can be £500 spent trying to get it sorted afterwards.

I'm near Ware, so quite southeast. Thanks for the advice guys.

Unit 18 is a little over a hours drive, well worth it too!
