Broken bonnet release

Featured Replies

Well did some inspections under the bonnet today. Closed the bonnet carefully to the first lock then pushed the bonnet down to sercure it properly and the release snapped in two.

Further inspection shows the metal bar running through it had rusted to dust and the plastic was brittle.

Now can anyone tell me how can i open my bonnet lol.

Cheers,

stephen

It's not that easy for security reasons, best bet is take it to a dealer.

Cheers Moggytech I feared that might be the only option but decided to give it a try.

But I managed to get it open in a coupe min thanks to a cable tie.

Off to order me a new one tomorrow I think

Good to hear you got it sorted out! :) Someone I know had the release cable snap in their VW ... cost over £150 to have the bonnet opened & the cable replaced! :o

Ouch sorry to hear that. I just replaced mine as the plastic was cracking, the lever was about £5 from TPS if anyone's interested...
