Maybe a stupid question, but are you shure you have the bluetooth option?

/P

As above, did you buy the bluetooth optional extra?

Only the elegance has bluetooth as standard, so unless you ordered it as an extra on your SE then you dont have the bluetooth module.

In my Octavia, with factory-fitted Bluetooth, I have had cause to access the Bluetooth menu as well, and discovered a little 'wrinkle'.

In mine at least, the Bluetooth menu on the Maxidot is only available when you have a bluetooth phone paired AND currently connected. It drove me batty until I discovered that.

However, you should be able to access the Phone menu on Maxidot at any time. If you can't see a Phone menu, I guess you don't have Bluetooth fitted.

I''ve uploaded an Adobe Acrobat file which details the process. Click here to get it. HTH :)

Thanks for that PDF Ray. Very helpful as I presume it will be the same on my Yeti. But I do find this bit daft:

*NB Please note: When you first pair your phone with the Bluetooth® system, your phone may prompt you to

connect automatically every time you get in to the car. If you accept this function that phone will be the only

phone that can be paired to the Bluetooth® system. Even the phone menu will be unavailable until the specific

phone is paired again.

If you have more than one regular driver only the phone of the one can be added? Why create a Profile name for the phone if there are no other phone profiles to choose from? My Sony Bluetooth in my Audi can have five phones paired at any time (but only one in use per time which makes sense).

You're quite right to think it daft - it is - sorry I missed that bit of nonsense.

My wife and I had identical mobiles with differing profiles. The Superb would recognise and connect to either or both without any problems at all. I've set my new Nokia E72 to connect automatically, again without problems to either myself or Jean's Nokia 6300.

Sorry for any confusion. :)

It is not you it is a typical SUK bit of confusion. So it sounds as if it is nonsense and more than one phone can pair. Phew. Hopefully two iPhones can as well.

Only question, how did you do it, mine only pairs 1 phone, could be handy to have both works and own phone paired, although I would only make calls on 1 phone.

To pair more than one phone (it can handle 5), switch off the phone thats connected. Then go into the phone menu and it will say that it cant find a paired phone and offer device search. Search for the second phone and pair it the same way as the first one.

The car will then automatically connect to the last phone it was connected to, so if you want to switch between handsets turn bluetooth off on the last connected phone.

Phonebooks and headunit quick dials are stored for each phone, so when you switch handsets the appropriate phone book/quick dial numbers for that handset are displayed.

I have 3 handsets paired with mine, but usually only have one with bluetooth on at any one time.

Thyanks mano, but can pair both phones so long as only 1 phone is in use, eg I use my own phone in the car, but it would be could if I could answer my works phone if a call came through

Only one phone can be connected concurrently, and the one it connects to is always the last one it was connected to unless that one is either off or not in the car.

I always use my works phone connected to the kit, and at weekends use my personal phone. The reason being that my employer allows the use of company phones for personal use as long as I pay something towards the calls (usually very little).
