Unwanted camber

Featured Replies

You are going to have loose springs if you remove those ally blocks!

Work mate took is to a garge to get it done (mechanic we know) and the guy fitted them witout those allys block and the coils ended up loose..... knocking over every bump..... LEAVE THEM IN!

anywho.... removing them will increase the problem as you are shortening the distace between the hub and the top mount......

1) make sure they are the correct kit

2) there are 2 holes iirc for the hub clamp bolt.... make sure its in the correct one for the Fabia.

I'm going to sort them in two mins, arb bushes just arrived, will post photo of how far gone the old ones are, drop links arrived less than 24hrs after ordering though :-).

As for those alloy spacers, they seem to snap into position on the bearing/top mounts and fit really well, I don't think they would mess up the angle of the dangle, will make sure everything is on right and fit new bits, if not I'll raise it, failing that I'll convert back to struts and springs like koni or something!!

I hope what I do today works, just about to go reprogramme keys so the rcl works!!

not if you wind the collars up, although if they fit flat into the top-mount without movement they shouldn't change the camber. Springs look too narrow, so I'm guessing those ally bits are to compensate for that then? As said above, check they are the correct kit.

Although you can't see it in the photos, just where the strut goes into the hub is bent, must have had serious impact :-( you can only see when it's not in the hub, bugger... Shoulda clicked on when I noticed one of the bits the drop link goes onto the strut is bent :-(

So on the look out for a pair of front coils if anyone has some, any make price as need my car to take gf to uni and back as she wrote off her car last week:-(

Fitted the new arb bushes and drop links though, didn't know what angle to put the bar at though, as the bushes were that far gone the bar was loose and just flapped about!!

Cheers

f**kin bad times man, cant you just buy a pair of new fronts - and tackle the previous owner for some sort of money back...you cant use them so you only wanna have paid for back uns.-

I would say so, either that or he's hit a pothole the size of Shropshire :wonder:

Just trying to source two new front ones, may as well replace the pair but in all honesty i may just end up getting a whole new set :S
