VRS options list

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I'm looking into the possibility of getting a Octy VRS in either Petrol or Diesel guise. I do a lot of driving, mainly on backroads which means lots of gear changes, accelerating, declerating etc. What do people reckon would be best? I'm coming out of a Volvo S60 2.0T which is doing 27mpg....

My main question is that there is loads of VRS' about, but what are the "must have" options? The things that should be standard but everyone had to pay extra for (except the people who just wanted a VRS)

The only must have I can think of is Maxidot.

The vRS now comes standard with many things that used to be optional when i ordered my first one, - 18" alloys, dual zone climate, electric rear windows, jumbo box, cruise control.

Unless you're doing mega miles i suggest getting the petrol. It offers reasonable economy but is quicker than the diesel and more fun to drive IMO.

This is all down to personal choice. I am sure you know what you would like and I suggest you go with this. Make the car yours, not what everyone else has.

I should have been more specific. I'm looking at used, and probably around the 2007 model year.

Ah 2007 model make sure it has cruise, electric rears dual climate and jumbo box

...and NOT blue!! ;)

No, i have already worked out I don't want a blue one. I'm thinking red or black.

...and NOT blue!! ;)

the 07 cars didnt come with the jumbo box/18" alloys and climate control as standard, whereas the 57 reg cars did. cruise control also became a std option towards the end of the 2007

As has been said. Centre armrest, dual zone climate and electric rears came as a package and are worth getting.

Cruise can be retro fitted for around £120.

Maxidot can be retrofitted for around £350.

Xenons would be nice if you are doing lots of back road driving. ;)

And if you can retro fit one, a Columbus sat nav/dvd player hard disc drive is a superb option for storing LOADS of cd's worth of mp3 files without the hassle of having all those cd cases floating around in the glove box...........

Most 07 plate cars have the jumbo/18"/climate/rear electrics as it was part of a retail promotional offer that ran from about Mar 07 onwards. The ones that don't have it could be imports or fleet vehicles.

Parking sensors are worth having and if you can't get one with xenons then a bulb upgrade improves illumination quite well.

What wrong with a blue one........... :dull: lol.

Anthracite is a nice colour!....i went for blue as i really like the colour & i had a black mk1 vrs & vowed never to have a black car again! i personally dont like the mk2 vrs in red or silver, white is growing on me,blue is very common though. :)
