really generalized exhaust fitted by sts

Featured Replies

ive recently had a new exhaust on my skoda felicia 1.3 by a garage but it has go a different fitting to the original exhaust, i know spare parts are generalized when not genuine but it looks a bit dodgy no circlips holding it

and it has a tie wrap to stop it sliding, supposivly.

i think i would be more concerned about the dodgy welding on the tail pipe.bill

I had one like that that was just a plain round bar to go through the rubber but never had any problems. Those circlips are a PITA so I never bother and also used cable ties.

Agreed on the welding though... looks like there's a gap!

Bad mountings? Dodgy welding? You should see the ultra-bodge tailpipe mine had when I bought it!

Given that this had managed to stay on with no circlips or cable ties and badly-fitting hacked up mounting rubbers from some other car entirely, I wouldn't worry much about yours ;)

What you can't see in the picture is the Ford logo on the silencer :giggle:

wouldn't worry about those rubber mounts having no circlips.. it's unlikely to fall offf tbh...

the welds on that silencer look like a perfectly normal production weld to me.
