Tomorrow I will be mostly adding amplifiers speakers and a new headunit!

Looks lovely, but I would say that, roll on March.

I would say that it needs lowering but with that new sound system installed I reckon it will drop a few inches ;)

A little Rain has stopped play at the moment

100_0846.JPG

so far this morning i have wired the speakers into the factory loom up front, sorted an earth in the boot and cut and fitted the boot floor

Using the boot slam trim retaining bolt

100_0835-1.JPG

Got a washer at the base of the thread in full contact with the bare metal then the ring terminal against that

100_0837.JPG

Using a large flat head bolt to slot into the spare wheel retaining bracket - works a treat

100_0838.JPG

Floor cut and fitted

100_0841.JPG

Due to the height of the bracket I have placed some blocks of wood in the wheel well for the board to rest on so its stable

when the bolt is cranked down it holds them in place and also holds board flat

Got some more pics from the last of the work today

Had to take a little break due to the rain- and discovered a common Octavia problem when opening the hatch in the wet - it dumps all the rain water in the boot!!

All wired in - the Audiocontrol amp powers the uprated front speakers (and stock tweeter) when it comes to adding the bass amp I will take the EPIC output from the audiocontrol - the Soundstream is running the oem speakers to the rear doors

Here you can see the main fascia panel removed - the white cables are the speaker connections coming from the back and taping into the standard quadlock adaptor (using a customised loom - this prevents me having to run speaker cables into the doors myself as it uses the standard wiring - im not running big power to the speakers so it saves time - you can also see the climate control panel removed - this was so I could get access behind the small cubby hole at the base of the centre console into which I ran the Ipod connection

100_0852.JPG

and here it is all back together - the ipod is hidden in the cubby hole at the bottom of the pic

100_0853.JPG

And the boot all factory fresh (apart from where the power cable is kicking up the carpet in the corner - but that will be hidden by the sub box

100_0854.JPG

Im pretty chuffed with it - it sounds good and clear - certainly good enough for my cloth ears - I have a lot of miles to do this week so will give it a work out - then Im just waiting for the GZNA2800XII amp to arrive from Germany and it will be finished!

Very nice. You're a lot better at removing trim than me

Top job

Very tidy. I'm still not convinced by single DIN units in the Octy2 dash though, seems to get a bit 'lost' with all that space? It's why I've not fitted the aftermarket stuff I had in the Fabia...

Have had this HU in an A3 Sportback and a Seat Leon FR both double din as standard and to me it looks fine - the cubby hole above the HU only gets used to store car park tickets from the payment machine to the exit barrier though

Looks great. Not really into all this ICE stuff but looks impressive. One note though, the back end looks pretty high on onw of the side pics above. Some Eibachs and the ICE weight should sort that ;)

edit: Raises his bat to the pavillion, 300 posts

Jesus, you're a brave lad for doing this on a minty fresh motor!!! Fair play, and congrats, as it looks be coming along very nicely!!

The head unit looks so lost in that double DIN size hole, even with the blanking plate! Lol!

I'd love to do something like this with mine, I've got loads of kit left up in the loft from previous installs I've done on my old Ford's, but to be honest, time, 2 kids and a house keep me busy/skint so it's one for a project in the future.

Top job, it's coming along very well!
