No boot lights - where to look first?

Featured Replies

Clocks roll back... and the lights decide to go out! Typical :D

Both sides aren't coming on, so I'm not suspecting it's a bulb replacement issue.

Where's the catch/sensor for activation?

Cheers,

Steve

Start simple and work back ,its not unknown for bulbs to fail all at once ,

If the rear wiper works the boot switch is working fine.

Worth checking behind the carpet on the left hand side, the rear washer pipe joins right next to the connector for the tailgate wiring harness.

Cheers guys. Will work through those suggestions. Rear wiper works without problem, and I've not noticed dampness or water collecting, from using the rear washer.

Suspecting it might be the lock assembly, as on a few occasions I've used the remote boot release and it's opened the car, but not locked it again automatically when the boot's been closed. Could be related I suppose?

Have checked VCDS and there's been no related fault codes logged.

Cheers,

Steve
