Looking at 2nd hand octys, how can you tell if this is fitted? Is it rear discs instead of drums?

Behind. the gear lever, just above the ashtray there's a row of push buttons/blanks. If one has ESP on it and if you push it in, with the ignition switched on the ESP symbol, Skidding car, will light up on the Dash. Push it again and it will go off

If it's lit all the time and won't turn off (with ignition on ) then there's a fault.

many thanks! I hope to get one without esp, as want to minimise my risk to big bills!

My 2010 model has ESP but it doesn't say that on the button. Can't remember what it does say though!

The ones without ESP definitely say "ASR" on the button - or at least my old 2006 and a FL 2009 that I was in last night did.

I don't know if it has always been the case but DSG versions have ESP as standard now.

Just been out to have a look - the button in my ESP fitted car has the skidding car picture and just says "OFF"
