DTD/Skoda Deposit

Featured Replies

Quick question.

When I ordered my car in August I put down the £500 deposit requested and was told that I could either get the money back or put it towards the advanced payment. However speaking to the dealer this morning we got on to the subject of the deposit were I was told that I would not get this back?

Are you trying to cancel your order?

If your using your current car as the deposit there should be no reason why the £500 deposit should be given back, unless of course you have damage or an issue on the p/x since making the order.

If you are canx the order I would suggest reading all the T's and C's and then seeking advice from trading standards.

No not cancelling my order. The dealer was just running through a few things and mentioned I had paid the £500 deposit I would be putting ££ towards a cash payment, but then told me I would not recive the deposit back?

Then you would just pay £500 less on the cash sale. I think its mostly said for people who finance the car with the dealer using p/x as the deposit. The dealer needs a deposit so you do not pull out.

Unless of course I'm missing the point somewhere?

No that makes sense and what I was expecting to do. I will drop them an email.
