Passenger front seat adjustment

Featured Replies

Is it possible to add vertical adjusment for front passenger seat? Except to replace complete seat? :finger:

In theory, yes. It should not be too hard to do, but knowing Skoda they may have made it very difficult by using rivets for the base. (not a problem, just a pain to drill out)

so waht is your advice? to ask - who?

Pretty sure the Polo has a height adjustable front passenger seat on some models so you might be able to get the parts for it from a VW dealer? Seat may require some "modification" though and the rivets drilled out if they are riveted..... :)

My advice is to take out the seat first and look how it fits on the base, to see how easy it would be to do.

Then go to the dealer and find out how much it would cost for the passenger side adjustable seat base (you may have to wait for one as no Fabias come with it in this country so they would have to get it in from europe for you). If the price is reasonable and you still want to do it, then go ahead.

I'm thinking it should be possible as there are left-hand drive versions of this car about ;)

If you could order it in Europe and pick it up it may not even be too expensive, although good seats are never cheap, mind you :(

It's an option on the vRS and plenty of LHD cars are sold so it's possible. I suspect it will mean a new seat subframe.

If you have a friendly dealer it wont hurt to ask.

Cheers

Lee

I would have thought a drivers side seat base for a LHD car would do the job, you would also need the side trims and the handle.

The seat unbolts from the floor and the base comes as one unit, just a matter of stripping the back rest off and swapping over the foam and trim.

sounds easier to just buy an octavia :P

Or, if still available, James Bond's Aston Martin DB5. That had passenger height adjustment of about 30 feet.

that would be sooo cool.

nag nag nag, nag nag nag. whoosh!!!!!!!.....................................................silence :D

 - now somewhere I thought it was supposed to be cheaper too, wasn't it ;)

Still a fun concept though :D

It's an option on the vRS ....

Not according to the Fabia VRS brochure I've got. Then again it doesn't list parking sensors as an available factory option on this model either... yet some folks on here seem to have ordered them?

It was listed as an option when the vRS Furby first came out, I priced up a vRS sometime ago and opted for the hieght adjustable passenger seat. From memory I think it was around

I don't know if the VRS seat frame is different to the rest of the Fabia range. The 2 height adjustable seat frames I can find prices for cost

Thats about right Denis, i replaced my seat frame a few weeks back to sort the old rocking problem, although it was warranty I did note the price.

Parking sensors were not an option available to me, not sure if/when it was changed for the vRS. I'm kinda thinking it's because the sensor wiring would be on the 'first' bumper, which is then covered by the vRS one.

I'll no doubt stand corrected though :D

Ross - never thought of you (full stop it should be... ;) hehe) of needing a rocking chair :D :D

How much was it then Ross?
