Just had my renewal in the post it gone up £100 even tho I have another years ncb and never crashed never claimed zero points and over 25 years old living in a very low rated area! I paid less when I was 21 on a focus st3! Tesco wouldn't even quote me as the car is to highly rated in the groupings? Crazy never known anything like it. Any ideas where I can get a cheap quote. The cost last year was £367 for the year!! Help

I checked everywhere when my renewal came through. Aviva were hundreds cheaper, and Adrian Flux who is recommended on here a lot was very expensive. 48 year old, 1.8 SLXi, living in London 15 years NCB. Aviva, £375 Adrian Flux £700 fully comp.

I'll give sky a try then I'm staggered how having another years ncb and no extra points or claims that my policy can go up 25-30%!!

Policies have gone up across the board, its been in the news over recent months. The main reason being increased uninsured drivers and increases in personal injury claims following accidents. Someone has to pay following the rise in these no win no fees companies and it was always going to be us the consumer.

I've always found Swiftcover to be competitive....at least here in the North West anyway. My premium increased by £75 this year.... that's for someone who's knocking 50 & never had a claim. Stayed with Swiftcover for another year.

I've been with Swift cover the last 2 years as they offered awesome quotes. I felt i had to get away from them this year though, i've heard really awful things about the way they handle claims and there customer service is meant to be shocking.

Thankfully i didn't need to claim.

Again my premiums have almost doubled this year and only due to Aviva's 2 months free, a 30% staff discount and a 10% online discount have i managed to get a reasonable premium for me and my GF - both 27 years old at £420 with protected NCD, the lowest XS offered and courtesy car (which i thought was standard on motor insurance policies, it appears to be an option now which of course increases premiums)........... still more than last year though!

Give skoda insurance a call(0844 391 4112) they saved me £200 this year & gave me better cover than my last insurer!

Adrian Flux are another good one to try, I can't fault them, and could not beat the last renewal I had from them.

Thanks for the imput guys, I've always had the luxury of cheap insurance this has now stopped it would seem. I've finally got Elephant of all companies to cover me fully comp 7 years ncb protected 13k a year business use for a tidy sum of £421 I'll take that but still not impressed I/we foot the bill for idiots!

Chris Knott or Brentacre all the way for me, particularly brentacre if you are modded or have mods in the pipeline. Saved me £1000 putting 2 mods on the car lol
