Spare parts rant !

Featured Replies

Afternoon folks,

My saga continues for my self leveling issue on my xenons.... well, to be honest, short of plugging vag com in to check the sensors, I haven't done much.

With winter upon is, I decided to take a quick look at lunchtime as I suspected the leveling sensor on the front N/S wishbone. Wheels on full lock and a quick

look confirmed there is a problem with that sensor.

The bracket holding the little tie bar onto the wishbone has broken, so needs replacing....

Quick call to the dealer found that the sensor is available on its own, but not the linkage, which includes a sensor for £108......

Looks like I'll be heading to B&Q for a piece of steel this weekend to make one !

How annoying.

Seems pointless to have to buy the sensor if you don't need it.

Touch with a MIG not fix it?

Probably would, but finding someone with a MIG........

If it didn't have 5 years of dirt on it, I'd probably try gluing it ;-)

Had another quick look and not so sure I can detech it to make a bracket. :-(

Might call another dealer and see if they say the same thing about the linkage not being available on it own.

You sure the nut securing it to the wishbone hasnt just come off?

No, the bracket on the wishbone itself is busted.... doesn't look like the bracket easily separates from the tie road either. :-(

no the dealer is correct the bracket comes with the link and sensor
