New Tyres

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Had new tyres fitted on Wednesday, Hankook Ventus V12 Evo, £92 per tyre fitted. This is now the second car I ahve had these tyres fitted to

Had a blast to Northampton and back and tried a few b-roads and i have to say they put the OEM Conti's to shame. Soo much better feedback through the steering now and the wet grip is MUCH better than before

Anyone looking for new tyres should really consider these!

My local fitter also recommended these to me when it comes to replacing my Potenzas.

How are they for lasting??

I had them on my s2000 for about 7000 miles, and when I traded it in they still had plenty of tread left on them, and those cars are notorious from shredding back tyres when you drive it enthusiastically!

The progressiveness and grip of the tyre is really good, also put to shame the Bridgestone Potenza RE050's that were on the s2000, which in my opinion were shocking for such a premium brand tyre.

Got Maxxis MAZ1 last month. Bit noisy but grip has been fine. Really not noticed a difference from the Avons that were on previously.

Which Avons did you have?

I've had ZZ3's before, found them ok but wore very quickly!

I had Hankooks on my last Octavia - opposite end of the performance spectrum (1.9TDi) but they were great tyres.

I got 22,000 out of the fronts ( replaced with around 3mm tread left) and the 2nd set still had loads of tread when I traded in after another 14,000 - looked like they were headed for the same 22,000 or so.

The original Dunlops had lasted 14000 on the front ( I didn't drive those - car had brand new Hankooks on the front when I bought it)

I had the original Dunlops on the back of my last car for 32K... then they canvassed on the inside (so it wasnt obvious without a good look) and I failed an MOT :D

Needless to say, won't be making THAT mistake again.

I can't remember to be honest. I never actually bought them but swapped my worn tyres for the set from my father-in-laws A3 before he traded it in. I think I've probably got about 15k out of them and they were part worn.
