iPod connection

Featured Replies

Hi - just after a bit of advice at the mo.

I have a 54 plate Fabia VRS with the Skoda Symphony head unit and the 6 CD autochanger under the seat.

I don't use the CD player anymore as all my music is on my iPod - which is currently hooked up to the head unit via an FM transmitter unit.

What I'd like however is a better connection from the iPod to the head unit as sometime the FM transmitter has a less than brilliant signal - especially whislt travelling out of my local area. Notonly that but to get any decent volume I really have to turn the head unit right up by which time it's buzzing and popping and ruining the sound quality.

What's the best option? One of these kits that fools the head unit into thinking the iPod is the CD player? A new head unit with an MP3 input? Or can I do something with the Symphony head unit to plug my iPod straight in - even if it means pulling it out and fitting a cable to the back?

Any advice much appreciated thanks.

Dave.

For the Symphony in my old Audi I bought a DICE ipod connector kit. It worked really well. It allowed the iPod to be controlled by the CD player.
