Happy Bonfire Night

Featured Replies

Just an excuse to say Happy Guy Fawkes Night folks for those who have a passion for fireworks like I do. Take your monsters along to see a nice display somewhere and get out into the fresh air for baked potatoes, treacle toffee, and all that stuff.

Great fun and be safe !

Excellent get yourself along for a hot dog and oodles of fresh air, and you will sleep better for it !! (apart from the rumblings of the hot dogs lol).

Have fun folks.

I won't unfortunately as my small dog is petrified of fireworks he just ends up not knowing what to do with himself and going to toilet in various places in the house. Shame I love fireworks myself.

Ban Fireworks, complete waste of money.

Think of all the frightened animals,

My little Jacks doing his nut.............. emoticon-0124-worried.gif

I'll be at home with the surround system on loud so the dog can't hear them and frighten the cats.

Love 'em myself, but the pets don't.

Sigh.emoticon-0127-lipssealed.gif

What I find amazing is how few people complain about the crazy amount of pollution the whole debacle causes.

All those fires pushing loads of CO2, and as for the rubbish chucked out by the fireworks...........................................

Hay, should this topic be really be in the Yeti section. It would be much better moved into "General and off topic chat" as it has nothing at all to do with Yetis.

Yep I always mention that whenever I go to a bonfire.

Well I've decided I'll give a miss this year and stay inside nice and warm.

Oh yes and di you know why they dont publish accident figures anymore ???....because they are a so few they dont even bare a mention. And talking of accident figures go onto the web and find out how many people are killed by dogs a year ??? Come to think of it the cost is probably a lot less than the street cleaners who have to clean up the crap from dogs everywhere we go.

Pathetic.

Since the passing of the 1997 update to the dangerous dogs act, the UK has seen a 50% increase in the total number of people admitted to hospitals because of dog attacks. In the past year, 4,574 people were admitted to hospitals in the UK due to dog bites -- a 10% increase over the year previous. 1/3 of these victims were children under the age of 14.

And thats not even talking about the numbers of deaths, or the dog littering, or the year round noise.

Firework related accidents are so low they dont even record them anymore.

Thats your argument pooped on so do your research next time you have a go at someone.

I didn't realise I was having a go at anyone, especially you. I was mearley pointing out that in my own opinion Fireworks are a complete waste of money and my little dog, who when sh-its on the pavement I pick it up and take it home, he loves everyone and has never bitten or attempted to bite anyone. As for noise he does bark now and then but next doors kids a come round and play with him and they take him back to there house.

May I suggest that if the dog next door is driving you batty the take it up with the owners, not me

Don't tar all dogs with the same brush................................

So if I have offended you in anyway I DO apologise and I suggest you pick up teddy and put him back into his cot.
