Skoda Service & Maintenance offer

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Just been thinking about the service plan offered to me after I bought my new vRS petrol hatch a fortnight ago.

Based on my annual mileage, which is approx 9000 per annum, I have been quoted £17 per month.

All parts and larbour included. Includes everything oils, discs, pads etc.. excludes tyres.

Sounded ok til I realised that my car is already under warranty for 3 years so any failures should be replaced anyway.

I should'nt need new discs and pads after 3 yrs should I? My driving style is gentle but progressive with soft braking and coasting to a stop on most occassions.

The total cost is £576 over the 3 years. Never got offered the £299 for two services deal.

Was all ready to sign up but now I am in two minds.

You don't need to be offered the £299 deal. All Skoda retailers are offering it as its funded by Skoda Finance.

Just nip into your local dealer and sign up. For a limited period you also get £100 worth of vouchers to use on accessories or parts

My dealer told me it's only available to those on the fixed rather than variable service intervals.

The £299 offer is not the same as Skoda's Fixed Cost Maintenance.

£17 sounds really cheap for service and maintenance - for a 9000 miles a year driver you need to question how many components are going to need replacing during the period you purchase for.

Discs, pads, fluids, belts, etc are not covered by your warranty.

I'm a 17,000 miles a year driver and my cost per month for servicing only is £22 - I like this as I am likely to get a gearbox service in during this time.
