205/40/17's or 215/40/17's

Any reason for the 205 or 215's? (other than the usual stretched tyres are bad, and It will mean that busloads of nuns and kittens will meet an early demise)

The rolling radius is close to no difference...

205/40/17's are the normal choice but 215/40//17's in theory are slightly wider so will offer better grip....

most opt 205/40/17 and there isn't any stretch with those

I'm pretty sure there is a tiny bit of stretch in 205s, the sidewall is definitely a good bit off vertical.

Anyone used Conti sportcontacts? I'm trying my damndest to find some at a bargain price as I got a set cheap for my old car and I frequently felt surprised at how faithfully they stuck to the road when I wouldn't have expected them to.
