Satin grey owners

Featured Replies

Just test driven a satin grey octavia today and loved it.

For those that have their car in this colour could you tell me what it's like to live with, e.g. does it show the dirt, are scratches noticeable?

Many thanks

Dave

I've had mine from the beginning of sept and I admit (with some hesitation) on this forum that I haven't washed it yet, but it still looks very presentable to me - the usual road grime and dust doesn't show up much.

Loved this colour, but it was not available on the vRS.

Anyone got pics?

To be honest, I find this colour a bit dull.... ....but anyway, I'd guess in terms of dust-visability it might be one of the better choices....

Hi

I've had mine since sep 2008, it's a really smart colour people comment on the colour rather than the car!

It keeps quiet clean but I was it once a week. Scratches can't help you with as mine is 100% free! There is one small paint chip on wing but not notable with colour.

One point to say is make sure have dlr on or get dealer to put lights on all time, as the colour blends into background at many times of the winter daytimeI found. I came from a dark blue car into Skoda, I seem to be getting more and more half asleep drivers not seeing me then I started putting the lights on, solved.

I wish this was a vRS colour option.

Car looks great, when I picked my car up in London no one at the dealer had seen one before. I was told there is not much call for that kind of car there other than Chelsea tractor pose machines. Having viewed ur pics I assume that hill near what I assume is your home address is a real pig in the winter. I bet you cant wait for winter this year!

I live in SE London on the low ridge that runs from Brockley (Telegraph Hill), One Tree Hill and Crystal Palace. Believe it or not some of the roads are 1 in 5! Check out Canonbie Road on Streetview. My old Octavia Elegance did pretty well last winter on standard tyres but some days the hills were impassable - even to the 4x4 gritters - see: Westwood Park

My folks live in the Cotswolds - which is a regular trip, and the extra traction will be pretty useful. They get snowed in pretty much every year. So yes - looking forward to snow!
