Third Coilpack In Six Months !!@#!!

Featured Replies

Hi,

Haven't posted for a while, but I thought I'd let off steam!

I've just had a _third_ coilpack go in the last six months. My dealer doesn't have any stock and says they're still in short supply.

I'm going to 'phone Skoda tomorrow and am considering contacting motor mags and consumer associations.

As far as I'm concerned, the car is too unreliable to use for anything but local journeys. I was considering going on holiday to Scotland with it, but am having second thoughts. Pity, because other than the coilpack problem, the car's been great.

I bought one from my local Skoda Dealer and one from a local VW Dealer in April. The latter - FW Vindis & Sons, a large VW dealer - had plenty in stock at the time. I suggest you try the VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda dealers in your area. Someone must have some at the new price of

Jim,

Denis's idea is defo a good one - I work at an Audi dealership,we also have 2 VW dealership - we all have the two different types of coil in stock at this time, suprised your dealer hasn't as far as I am aware the supply is getting much better - Audi A.D.T's(roadside rescue) were all recently issued with 140 each! - I know I've just had to send the old ones back.....

I have 2 of the old expensive ones in my boot
