Is an R32 ARB a straight fit on my octy?

Featured Replies

Need to replace a few bits on the car and a golf R32 arb has come up on the bay for, what looks like, a reasonable price.

Is this a straight fit on a octy vRS as I take it it would be an upgrade?

Also would a rear ARB from an R32 be a straight fit also?

Many thanks

Yes thats the correct bar and you will just need 23mm arb bushes to go with it.

I have 1 fitted to my car.

Nope. The R32 is 4wd and has independent rear suspension, so the RARB's are totally different.

No not yet, will get one fitted eventually, is an R32 front ARB overkill with no RARB then?

Oh god don't let Jay know that you haven't got a RARB! He'll add you to his hit list! Haha

I need to get one, but never seem to have to spare cash. I'm hopefully selling two Quaife diffs this week to pay for something else!

I think the general rule is that fitting a thicker FARB with no RARB, will make understeer even worse. It's a balancing act.

Ohhh, I see. Fair enough, thanks for the info, makes sense to be fair.

Think i'll just polybush standard ARB :)
