coolant warning light

Featured Replies

My 2002 VRS wasn't used for a few months and I had to jump start it. After jumping it the EPC light stayed on all the time but that has since cleared.

I then had a problem with the coolant warning light coming on after the car has been driven and then turned back on whilst still hot. It also does it if I slow down and sit in traffic after the engine gets warm. The temperature guage is showing that the temperature is fine. I also replaced the temperature sender with a genuine skoda one about a year ago so that shouldn't be a problem. The coolant levels are fine.

I haven't had it plugged in yet but has anyone got any ideas what might be causing it?

Thanks

Scrub the terminals inside the expansion tank thoroughly with a toothbrush. Seems to happen a lot at this time of year.

OK thanks. That sounds like a cheap fix. Hope it works!

Best to use a new cheap and nasty toothbrush to make sure it's clean, then make sure you don't use it as intended afterwards :)

If it dose not work a new bottle only around £12 from the dealer.
