Audi TT comps

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm currently running the said alloys on my Fabia with 205.40.R17 budget tyres (see pics and description below from when I bought them).

The tyres seem a little narrow for the wheels, leaving the tyres very vulnerable to damage. Could I could use 225.40.R17 tyres without rubbing on my current standard suspension and in the near future eibach 25mm lowering springs? Would I need spacers? Any other implications?

I know theres a few Fabia's out there with comps, so what tyres are you using?

Many thanks

Up for sale ive a set of Audi TT Comps painted in anthracite grey, They have 204/40/17 tyres fitted 500 miles ago (budgets) Removed from my fabia for standard wheels (im getting old :giggle: )

Wheels are in good condition having the odd mark and 1 kerb mark. No centre caps, I found the centre cap from a mk3 golf gti wheel fitted and i used them vrs badges from ebay over the top

£375, Collection from Coventry or i can deliver but would need a postcode to quote on this

use 215 40 17's

They don't do 225/40 R17. You could use 215/40. I use this size on an 8J wide rim, and it sits OK.

I had no idea you couldn't get the 225's, thanks

225/35 R17 would work, my local tyre fitter mentioned this combination, but thought it would be a little too wide for the Fabia. http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m54b0s1140p0

Reuben RS seems to have 225/35 in here http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/35153-fabia-alloys-archive/page__st__80

That first link is to 215/35 R17. No point in that size. I noticed 235/40 R17 which would possibly be a bit big, but would give better front end traction on a fabia :D

Now corrected, cheers

Using the tyre diameter calculator 225/35 would be the closest match to a 215/40.

on the price front id av thought 215-40 would be cheapest ? emoticon-0148-yes.gif

205/40's are the cheapest at the moment, I just bought a set!

oh i realise that mate, there always a decent price, i meant 215's over the 225 or 235's emoticon-0148-yes.gif

 DOH! Yeh I agree haha

Well it looks like 215's are going to be the way forward in the absense of 225's and i'm not prepared to sacrifice ride quality by using a 35 profile. The only other option is 235/40/17, I suspect this would probably rub though and thats if it would even fit the tyre in the first place!
