HTC Sense

Featured Replies

I upgraded my phone to a HTC Desire from a G1.. All the literature that came with the phone states it comes with "HTC Sense" built in.

But if I go over to http://www.htcsense.com and try and register it asks for my phone model, but only lists the HTC Desire Z and Desire HD..

I wouldn't mind using some of the features, but apparently the Desire doesn't support it?

Collegues of mine state that this is because there are different versions of HTC Sense.

Has anyone with a Desire signed up and started using HTC Sense? Is it any good (I dont want to sign up if my phone is not supported)?

Does anyone know if / when the Desire will have an upgrade to allow it to use HTC Sense?

HTC Sense is the overlay that HTC install on their phones, that includes friend stream, the fancy clock etc etc. (It's also one some of their Windows Mobile phones with differing features)

However, HTC have created a new service, this new service has been given the name "HTC Sense" and currently is only available for the two phones listed. It may or may not become available for the Desire...

Sometimes manufacturers can be complete and utter muppets and make me look normal emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Would be good if the new HTC Sense service does make it to the Desire.

As far as launchers go, I much prefer LauncherPro Plus over the HTC Sense launcher. :)

I have Wave Secure - I was just wondering what all the HTC Sense is about when my phone states it has HTC Sense, but the website doesn't list my phone.

Seems to me like a really big ****-up by HTC.

Not really, as said above the version you're after is for the newer phones, yours simply doesn't support the new versions for whatever reason, they could have named it slightly different I guess but hardly a fark up.

The nokia N97 .................Now theres a really big fark up

The new sense is simply combining appbrain and wavesecure clones into the existing sense overlay.

Really? I will be sorry to see mine go. Well, so the advert will say :giggle:

The reason the box says sense is because your phone does have sense on it just that the new sense features aren't supported on your older version of sense that's basically it!

I think they might be updated the old desire at some point... hope so anyway!
