water in spare wheel well

Featured Replies

Mate at work has 06reg Octavia II VRS hatch.

He has a persistant problem with water in the spare wheel well. I did ask him if it was his rear washer pipe. He said he'd checked that and that although it stays dry when he uses the washer, it is wet after a good bit of rain.

Any ideas? Is this a common problem on the Octavia II?

Rubber seal. Had mine changed solved the problem.

I have exactly the same problem on my 06 vRS hatch and I have also had the washer pipe problem fixed twice.

I will get the boot seal replaced as you suggest. How much did this cost? Did your mate also have problems with the rear windscreen misting up badly with water droplets on it and did the replacement boot seal also cure this?

Do you know if there is a permanent cure to the washer pipe problem? It seems that if I even accidentally touch the rear washer control briefly in cold weather the damned thing flies off. Really irritiating.
