Heated mirrors?

Featured Replies

The resting position is at 9 o'clock but you can turn it to about 10 o'clock-ish where the mirror sign is and you can hear a relay tripping under the dash. I really can't get my head around this. In my old Passat you just pushed the joystick towards the sign and it came on with a timer and that was it.

I too was puzzled with this I presumed you put the heated rear window on and flicked the switch on the mirror to make them work.

Yep, I believe you have to have the rear window heater switched on, then the mirror control round to the heated mirror setting - worked for me the other day.

They work independantly of the rear heater on some models, simply rotate the dial and the mirrors will heat up.

same here, no need for heated window, just set switch to heater position, quarter to!

OK. But what's the other position at 10? If I turn the switch back to 3 does that turn it off or is it on a timer? :S

O - OFF

R - Right Hand Adjustment

L - Left Hand Adjustment

{#} - Mirror heating on # being the symbol showing the rising heat.

Mine work independantly from the rear window heating.

if you forget to turn them off. they turn off after 20 mins even if you leave them on heater it reset next time you turn on the ignition
