octavia gone. suberb here.

Featured Replies

picked up my new suberb elegance estate 170 dsg on saturday. a bit different from my octavia.

the smoothness of the CR diesel over the PD is wonderful. almost petrol like at times.

i went for silvery blue (what ever that is called in the brochure). looks good, though will need more frequent washing than the octavia:(

options are heated windscreeen, heated washer nozzles, mdi interface, KESSY.

still trying to get used to KESSY. anyone else got this and been playing with it?

need to spend some time tweaking settings to get them how i like them

fuel economy a bit pants at the mo. i expect it to improve a little as the engine loosens up. only 127 miles so far.

Oh, is it an Aqua Blue? I have ordered one in that color to. Some pictures would be nice! :)

Have also ordered with KESSY. How do you like it?

I actually quite like the rawness of the PD lump , the extra torque is nice as well

Congratulations, good choice. I'll second the request for some pictures please as I've also ordered aqua blue (with ivory leather and black carpets) still got maybe 8 weeks to wait for mine yet.

Mark.

Looks like this is going to be a common popular colour!

Mine (also in Aqua Blue) will hopefully be with me in a couple of weeks.

i will post a pic when there is some decent light to take one :D

yeah, 'aqua blue' that sounds like the right name. looks good with the silver roof rails. i went for the dark leather interior and didnt take the wood option as i thought that would look better with the pale interior.

kessy might prove more novelty than useful. there are sensors at various positions around the car to detect where the key is. for example, if you are standing at the taigate or standing at the passenger door. i think you cant open the tailgate with the engine running - need to test this.

for the front handles simply place you hand in the loop of the door handle. that lock opens and you can pull the handle. close the door and place your hand over the location where a lock barrel would be and the door locks. simples. if you pull on the handle within two seconds the door wont open, so you can check it is locked.

once in the drivers door press the button once and it is the same as first ignition position. press again to start the car with foot on the brake (for dsg). i went back in the house on monday to get my hat with the key in my pocket. engine stayed running. i assume though it can't be moved as the key isnt close enough.

oh i forgot. i also specced the auto-dimming interior mirror. All 3 dimmed on my octavia and i liked it. the one on the superb doesnt seem to tint much:(

heated windscreen is BRILLIANT. shame the auxilliary heater cant be ordered in this country.

Nice review of the kessy system.

I believe that you actually can drive away with the car without the key in it. My dealer told me that one of his colleagues made the misstake to hand over the car to his wife with the engine running. When she had left he found the key in his pocket. Fortunately he got hold of her before she stopped the engine...
