fabia 1.9tdi what revs should it tick over at?

Featured Replies

Hi all, have just traded my octavia in for a fabia 1.9 tdi (07), the problem is when its ticking over, it's revs are sitting at 1100rpm, is this normal? if not, what could the problem be? cheers :smirk:

Does sound a bit high?

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome to Briskoda ,make sure to check out the scottish region.

Sounds very high, I would have thought somewhere around 800rpm would be correct.

Thanks everyone for your warm welcome, i think i have sorted out the high revs, it kept me awake last night thinking about it. When i went to start the car this morning it was still reving high, so i put my foot under the pedal and lifted it and hey pressto the revs went down, and it has been fine all day, will see how it is for the next few days and if it happens again will get in looked at. Fingers crossed my sleepless wasn't in vain.
