Never cracked this one on the Octavia:

I'm deaf and most times I don't hear the warning "bongs" if the engine is running or if the car is being driven.

I hope the 1.2 TSI Yeti will be quieter than the 2L TDI PD Octavia.

I'd like to find out where the sound comes from, which is difficult because my hearing is not directional.

Does anybody know where the sounder is located?

Even if I can't adjust the volume it might be possible to pick it up and amplify it.

It would enable me to use the speed warning facility.

I can't aford a Road Angel.

The warnings are all generated by a speaker integrated int the dashpod in the same way the Octavia is. I am not aware of a method that allows the volume to be adjusted.

I need to find out where the sound comes out, presumably there is some sort of opening, hole or grill.

I will be getting the Yeti before the end of the year (with luck) but I'd like to obtain a suitable contact microphone (which I have to order) beforehand if I can. Hence the need to know as much as possible about where it will be attached.

A photo of the location would be wonderful.
