Adrian Flux quoted £701 for 15k with business use fully comp.

I'm 40 with 10+years NCD

CF31 postcode

car has had:

LPG

17's with 225/45 tyres

312mm fronts

007P DV

some silicone bits

remap to 215 (ish)

Golf GT TDi interior

boost guage and leather wheel cover

So not the most extensive list in the world and what I consider to be a high price? I know policies have gone up again this year due to all the snow and ice last winter (floods the year before )

Does Bridgeend (CF13), or the larger area/region, have a higher car crime rate ?

Noticed you're half way between two large cities (Swansea and Cardiff for those with poor geography, 30min either way ?)

Everything insurance companies do these days is based on statistical modelling, location plays a large factor in the calculatons.

Don't think bridgend is as bad as swansea or cardiff. I was a bit shocked that the link I posted refuse octavias. Would also have thought that the 4x4 would statistically be a safer bet?

Does seem a bit odd - would like to see the stats that made them come to that decision ( to refuse Fabia/Octavia ).

Had wondered if the model they use to price up insurance, might have included a buffer zone round major conurbations (say 30mins - they 'average' a car crim might drive out of town ), in which case your postcode might even fallen within two such buffer zones (one from Cardiff, one from Swansea).

Try the other companies mentioned on this thread, and see if you can get them better you last-best quote

Might be interesting to see what the quote would be for an un-modded Octy 4x4 - Maybe the statistical models take into account recorded figures for modded vehicles per area - i.e. are their lots of modded saxo's in your area, giving modded vehicles a bad insurance rep, thus pushing the price up ...

You don't see too many modded vehicles in Devon ( not saxo's types anyway :giggle: ), which might account for the some of the difference ?
