Ride Height

Featured Replies

In scandinavia, we can choose from 3 different ride heights

sport: 127mm

normal: 141mm

bad road: 159mm

I understand that this is not standard in the UK?

could someone please post the standard ride-height?

(I ordered mine with the "Bad road" package ; that I assume can be compared to the "scout" edition in the UK.. - however, I was wondering what it will look/feel like to drive compared to the one I test-drove with 141mm rideheight and 'softer' suspention)

I got the Off-road option on mine. cant say it differs much in comparison with the standard in feeling. however, it does look alot higher then the standard (might be the fact that i downgraded from 17" to 16" wheels..) But even with a 120kg KTM enduro bike on the towbar it handles like a dream in the suspension. you wont regret your choice once you start to load your car and/or test it on bad roads.

in the UK, We have one height, no bad or rough road package, and no scout edition... it's just as it comes... :wonder:

The Octavia get's a Scout model, but not the Superb (At present...)

The rough road/off-road option is pretty much the difference between a normal octavia and a scout (apart from the hideous plastic details..), thus a superb with that option is a scout but without the plastic! :D

Why that option aint available in the UK is a mystery since i can bet your backroads are as bad as in scandinavia.

A lot of the main roads are crap as well!

The ones around us look like they've been subjected to a B52 bombing run.

One round our way looked like a brick lorry had decided to shed half its load over it this monring. Police had to come and block the road off so that it could be cleared and they took two hours do it it!!!

Think our Superb could do with being a bit lower but don`t think we have the Sports Supension as an option in the UK. More`s the pity!

Sports suspension always comes at a price, a freind had an A4 with the sports pack fitted and I was shocked at how hard that thing was, he got rid of it as it was hurting his back! Years ago I had a car lowered 35mm, that looked great but I don't think my 50 year old spine wants me to do that again.

I have a few "bendy" motorway juctions to negotiate on my daily travels and my Superb stays quite level bombing around these, much less body roll than my previous Ford, so whilst I think the car will look a bit nicer if it was an inch lower, I'm not prepared to trade the ride quality, it's one of the reasons I bought the darn thing. Perhaps the adjustable damping they have in the Passat CC would be the answer?
