gettin a new key fob? help

Featured Replies

hi guys

i got a skoda fabia recantly as my first car and it came with an aftermarket remote locking system fitted to it

my question is im looking to but an original remote key fob which has the cool flipout key, will i be able to program it into my car?

my car didnt originally have remote locking, it had it fitted in aftermarket.

also would i be able to change the flipout key with my spare key?

and yes the only reason i want to do this is so i can have the flipout key, im 17 what do you expect :p

thanks a million!! :D

If it didnt have it from factory then im afraid the answer is no.

Not without fitting the whole CDL system.

Might be worth looking into one of these Rclick kits?

I put one in the Polo I had before my Fabia. You get two blank flip keys in the kit. I got the keys cut at the local locksmith and then simply swapped over the immobiliser chips into the new keys.

thanks guys, thats been really helpful :D

ill have a look into the rightclick one, it looks like it could easily fit into mine, it just needs to old remote locking system ripping out

also never go for selca, i cannot find the control box to program the key fobs, the spare key fob has lost its code and i cant re-program it

Might be worth looking into one of these Rclick kits?

Interesting aside. Someone buying one of these could get the manufacturer's logo from a different one to Skoda to confuse anyone who found the keys if they were accidentally dropped...
