Got some fault codes

Featured Replies

was overtaking a couple of cars on the way home and the ESP light came on, got the codes 17705 and 16487, could they be linked as I have only recently replaced the MAF so doubt its faulty? The car still pulls really well so I'm guessing its not a huge problem. Any advice on what to check? I'm guessing split hose? Damn the dark nights can't see anything under the bonnet.

Cheers

MIke

17705 common try a throttle clean and reset

16487 maf high input can be n75 related (overboost) will do some digging now for you buddy

If the MAF you put in wasn't genuine, then it's very likely that it's causing a problem. 17705 code is a nightmare to track down sometimes. 17705 usually puts the car into limp mode so I'm surprised that you state the car pulls ok!

Gave it a damn good thrashing today in 2nd and 3rd and got no codes, hoping it was just a one off. I'm guessing if I had a boost leak the codes would have shown up again under that much acceleration?????

just re check in a few weeks as some codes are on a counter ignition start ups before showing

Following on I fixed that split pipe and found another one, can some tell me what it is, where is goes and possibly a part number? Its the lower pipe off of the y pipe, I'm guessing its a breather pipe? What are the effects of it being split? The car doesn't feel under powered.

mike it from the crank breather and will cause issues get it replaced asap

very common

either replace with oem

or replace with a silcone one

or scrap it all together and fit a catch tank

cheers Clive, what issues will it cause? Is it likely to make the car burn oil or be under powered or lose boost?

Cheers
