Help! - jerky drive is driving me mad

Featured Replies

Hi

My Fabia is driving me mad

When i accelerate, the car is sometimes jerky like theres a blockage in the fuel pipe. I took it to the garage after I first noticed it and they said the MAF sensor was replaced. It was better but the problem is still there. It feels like the brakes are intermittently sticking on but they arent. If they were, surely I would notce a change in revs? I changed all the discs and pads for brand new ones.

I then thought it was the clutch but when the pedal is depressed slowing down, it still feel like the discs are bent or something. Theres no noises from the wheels and when accelerating, the revs dont drop or stutter. I had a diagnostic check and there were no error codes or anything.

The only thing I've had back on the MOT was an advisory that a 'rear front suspension bush' will need replacing before next MOT.

Reading these forums, the only thing I can think of is a driveshaft or CV joint problem, but wouldnt I hear some noise if this was the case?

If anyone else has had this problem, did you find out what it was?

Thanks

Id give the throttle body a damn good clean out and see what happens.Ive heard of throttle position sensors causing these symptoms.

I've done this too and had it reset by VAGCOM.

maybe try the EGR valve thing. Theres a guide on the stickey part in Fabia 1 I think!

I changed the fuel filter today. We'll see how that goes
