Dipping interior mirror

Featured Replies

Just had a replacement interior mirror fitted on my 2010 1.6 Fabia. This is unlike my old one. There is no small lever to flip when you want to dim the mirror, instead you have to move the whole mirror. Have the mirrors with a lever for dip been superseded?

Sounds like youve had the auto dimming/dipping mirror.

Mine doesn`t have a lever either and it isn`t an auto-dim mirror. Didn`t think it was even available on Fab`s.

Which begs the question then of how does the interior mirror 'dim' then?

acording to the fact sheet it is auto dim on the face lift fadia

Never trust the brochure or configurator, I've found that the car I've ordered has got stuff on it that isn't mentioned in either spec sheet...

No definately doesn`t dim, get blinded if someone behind me flashes their lights. Its just a normal mirror as far as I can tell - even the handbook doesn`t say anything about it being an autodim mirror.

Checked my 60 plate Fabia and its got a tipping lever on the mirror

Ha! Duh. Should have looked more carefully at the mirror . . . . . it had been fitted upsidedown by the dealer so the lever to flip was concealed at the top of the mirror. Now fitted the correct way up!

However can a trained mechanic fit an interior mirror upside down? Beggars belief in my opinion. Would you trust them with a complicated job - I wouldn't.
