Have sky compressed SD again?

Featured Replies

Anyone else noticed sky SD had become increasingly pixelated on just about every channel?

Only ones that don't seem to be that badly affected are BBC ones.

Is this to get us all to jump to hd?

I thought exactly the same fella.

I was watching football the other night, and it was particularly noticeable.

Close up shots weren't too bad, but distance shots of the pitch action were terrible!

The players looked like a mashed up bundle of coloured pixels moving about.

Definitely think Sky are trying to force people to cough up the extra £10 monthly fee

I'm glad someone else has had this. I was beginning to think I was going mad. I've recalibrated my TV 6 times and even had a Sony Tech come out to sort it. He said the something similar, although the language was more colourful :giggle:.

I have complained to Sky now but not expecting anything to be done about it.

no issues here on either on my boxes all working fine

Cant say I have really noticed myself, it looks the same today as it did ages ago on my 42' full HD panasonic plasma.

Paying extra attention, adverts seem fine, just the programs.

I'm an HD customer and I could have sworn the HD channnels weren't as pin sharp as usual. Maybe the more channels they transmit the lower the quality. Hmmmm

Yep i have found lately that changes in colour in the screen appear to be pixelated and layered

Yet the Adverts (especially the Panasonic viera one) are pin sharp.

adverts seem fine

I'm only allowed to watch the adverts emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif
