Cold air feed to standard airbox (pics required)

Featured Replies

as per title, acquired some 3" cold air feed to run to my airbox and was wondering if anyone else has done the same? Just so I can see where you've routed it!

If so let's see some pics

Hi there Si. I actually did this mod and posted a how to with pic here: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/181301-airbox-mod-and-3-pipping/

hope that helps.

yes mate it's a great help cheers. been waiting for you to put it up :giggle:

Been away or 4 weeks in USA on business so just catching up a little now.

What else has been going on....

Done the same too mine, 75mm cold air feed, smoothed airbox, drilled some holes into the lower grill till i get my Miotec grills fitted.

Used this: http://www.regals-motorsport.co.uk/filtration-induction/flexible-air-ducts/1m-neoprene-flexible-ducting-cold-air-duct-feed-75mm-id-p-4445.html

routed like this:http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/Misc/Misc_Performance_pictures/products%20page%20parts/Airfilters/JKMAirbox.jpg

pipe end is currently cable tied to the horns, get some pics up when i've got my camera back. Did a similar mod to my Vectra V6 i had before the VRS, prefer airbox mods to induction kits to avoid heat soak issues.

i did airbox mods to my old vauxhalls ( cav gsi, astra gte 16v, vectra gsi 2.6) they seem to perform better on them than an ind kit due to under bonnet heat especially the xe engines.

just thought i'd try it as a mate brought a load of neoprene pipe cheap

must admit my old CAI did sound good B) will see what this is like when its done.

To be honest you should not get heat soak on a CAI with the filter sitting behind the bumper(pretty much where the 3" pipping in routed).

Agree that the K&N cone type kits that sit right against the MAF will get heatsoak though.

The drilled holes in the lower airbox kind of make the airbox sound a little like the CAI and with my Forge DV sounds just right as the CAI woosh I thought was starting to sound a bit to much.(must be getting older) :giggle:

If i was 23 not 43 would of gone for the Carbonio, but don't want the noise, even went for the resonated Miltek to keep the noise levels down.(i must be getting old alsoemoticon-0136-giggle.gif)
