Vrs re map

Featured Replies

Looking at remap for my 54 octy vrs

Found a bloke on e bay who does postal re maps £99

He has 100•/• feedback and offers taylor made BHP increase with Taylor made torque curve

I was looking at taking it it to 215BHP to allow it to be within tolerances

The company is morebhpltd on eBay any one heard of them? Anyone got any thoughts??

Cheers

Andy

Ok that link is just plain funny!!

I've found the company and it seems to be a proper tuning company and I quote " save labour costs on removing yourself" obviously you don't get the rolling road!!

Surely it's the same as a re map at another tuning company you just do the " in and out" bit yourself

Hope the link works

Had a quote from the same company 99 for remap and 50 to disable the coding for my spare ECU so it can be installed in my car. not sure of BHP after remap?

i know a member who has one of these maps, and its not bad from what i can tell

However, sending your ecu is not without issue like what the hell do you do if it goes missing or gets damaged in the post, it WILL cost to repair/replace.....

plus a semi custom map tuned to your engine specifics is always better and good mappers will do this even at stage 1, which is not possible with a postal map.

My brother got his fabia vrs mapped, and i remember saying to him, make sure you use a good mapper, well didnt, he went on price, and not long after fitting the map, the clutch started to slip as too much torque was being produced by the map........net result.....new clutch or take the map off....he took it off!

Would feel more assured about dealing with them direct, seem to have a lot of franchises  Google ,them for feedback?

Ok e mail enq sent as they have a place near me I'll keep you updated

Several members on uk-mkivs.net have used more-bhp & all seemed happy with the results, but i'm pretty sure they all took their cars to the more-bhp workshop to have it done.

All firstly thanks for the advice

I've spoken to the owner who is a top bloke and immensely helpful

It's a straight forward re map to225 bhp he said if I have any mapping issues he'll send a van out from Cheshire and it's all garunteed

Reckons he's done 1500 vag cars

My conclusion--- I'm gonna give it a go

Let you know how it goes

I know some of you will be banging your computers and shouting at me but I'll let you know it goes

Good conclusion then

225bhp i think not lol

you will not get 225 with a stage 1 remap fact

Not even if you don't care how long it lasts? :giggle:

I always thought 220-225 was a bucket load of cash, stage 2 software and hardware!

Sorry should have made it clear I'm already running a decat and induction kit. It's being remapped for that

Also just re read my post I made a mistake it's not 225 he reckons 215-220 which seems more realistic

I've got back the ecu and fitted it been running for a couple of days

What can I say!!! Wow so much power pulls like a train all the way through the revs without having huge turbo lag really impressed

Also the mpg is better by 1-2 mpg that I can tell.

De cat is off the car now as it wasn't great with the re map therefore I now have a decat for sale ifanyone wants it

I think stage 2 tuning is just too much for me to afford to run on a daily basis

If you are re mapping on a budget this is well worth a look
