I got super assistance on here before so I am back again. I thought I had fixed my electrical problems following water ingress.

Here is what is still bothering me

The boot still will not open on the button over the number plate, or from the release in the driver door.

The light in the footwell of the driver side will not light when the driver door is opened

The door open light in the dash is back on constantly

The interior lights will not time out, they are staying on until (I think) the computer times out

Anybody out there any ideas?

Could it be a door lock?

Is it possible that the computer maybe thinks that the boot is constantly open?

I would be very grateful for any pointers of what to try.

At this stage of this problem I am beginning to think that the comfort control module that I put in (2nd hand) is causing these problems. Trouble is that I think the central locking shouldn't work off either the key or the zapper if the comfort control module is dead. Is this the case? Can anybody out there help me, I am pulling my hair out with this problem at this stage :sick: :sick:

Having looked at the electrial schematics (based on a 2003 model) the first 2 items could be caused by bad / cooroided nodes (joins in the wiring harnesses).

Boot problem - joint reference W49.
