gone from PD130 to PD140 Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I came across the Forum when doing research on remapping my Skoda, as I dont really know if I should do it.

I had an 04 plate Octavia L&K PD130 from new until 2008 and it was brilliant, it went like stink and did 56mpg, I am sure it had more than 130 bhp as it used blow BMW 320d's away. Wasnt mapped!

However I now have a 59 plate Octavia PD140 elegance and whilst it is a better car in many ways, the engine doesnt seem the same and only does 47mpg.

I am 45 years of age and not a boy racer but I feel I would like a bit more from the car especially when loaded but I dont want to damage the car. Celtic Tuning claim to take it 201bhp with a remap but I frightened this would wreck the flywheel, clutch and so on.

Has anyone any idea what a safe limit would be for a remap without wrecking components?

Any advice would be appreciated.

`hi have a word with shark performance he is a member on hear about 50 members had there cars remaped on hear i am happy with mine as are most of the other members i think.mine went from 140 to 180 bhp.bill

Thanks bill, so I am guessing you have not seen any undue affects on your drivetrain with the 180bhp?

Does the extra 40bhp make a noticable difference to the cars performance?

I am looking at one of those devices where you can put the old map back for when you take the car back to the dealer.

Hi and welcome aboard.
