Featured Replies

I am wondering where the ISV is located on these engines (vRS) to be honest i didnt have a clue what it looked like lol  , my car aint idleing aswell as it use to so am i right in thinking cleaning the ISV can help this? I have a bit of free time this week so i fancy tackleing this, if anyone can help that would be great

Common causes of poor idle on 1.8T are. Vac/boost leak, dirty throttle body, faulty coolant temp sensor, coil pack failure.

There isn't a separate ISV, as the car has an electronic throttle body (which stabilises idle speed).

Cleaning the throttle body will help though.
