lowering my vrs, but which bushes do i go for ?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

in a few weeks i will be having my car lowered 25mm using the eibach pro kit springs. whilst the work is being carried out i though i may aswell have my suspension bushes changed aswell. i have just got a quote from euro car parts for a full set of powerflex bushes at £175, i didnt really want to spend this much so i was considering going down the seat cupra option. My question is the full set from powerflex consists of 8 bushes i wasnt sure how many of the ones used on the seat cupra were uprated? or is it only a certain bushes used on the seat that are uprated. im just abit confused iv spoken to a guy at seat in leicester and quoted him a part number i had (6ll 407 183) and he just said "there for the back" he wasnt very helpful.

any help would be much appreciated

thanks

Steve,

The Seat Cupra kit consists of two bushes, which are for the rear of the front wishbone :)

ah ok so theres only 2 bushes which are uprated over standard, well if there the ones which i had that part number for they were about £11 ish. i just didnt know if it was worth having them all changed as the cars going to be up on the ramp having its springs fitted, my car is an 05 plate with 55k miles. if i wanted to uprate the others am i going to have to use some one like powerflex. i didnt know if it was worth doing them all or not.

When I replaced my rear bushes for cupra ones I checked the front and they were fine. So were the anti roll bar bushes. That was after 80+k miles. Save you money, just get the cupra rear bushes.

As mentioned front wishbone rear bushes are the most popular to change and make a big difference.
