Out of interest, currently eyeing up a silicone hose kit on ebay for my vrs. Would you declare this? It doesnt exactly increase performance so to speak just makes sure the car can work properly

No insurance company is going to decline a 3rd party claim for tinted windows or a similar minor mod, in fact probably even if it was remapped. You might get your own claim bounced but that's a different thing altogether.
