Alloy wheel filler?

Featured Replies

Between myself and my other half we may have done this to 1 of my wheels

and by some amazingly large lack of attention the same to a lesser extent to 2 more

I've purchased another set to cosmetically correct the car for everyday use however as they are straight, unbuckled, and uncracked (just mashed on the front)

I was planning on keeping the mullered ones for track use in 2011.

When the weather improves I was also hoping to attempt a DIY pikey refurb & recolour of them (I mean no-one is going to buy them in the state they are!) and wondered if there is any kind of filler that I could use to smooth the surface over once i've filed the worst of the damage down.

Any one have any ideas?

I found this thread on DW that seems to be exactly what i was thinking of doing (although they've applied more time and effort and are probably more concerned about the final finish than me!)

and a quick google brough up this on the Bay of E

which looks like the stuff

 although a bit steep for what it is me thinks and i don't think it would stretch to do 4 wheels

I was going to say I am aware of a "chemical metal" that might be suitable. Personally I would just sand them right down and paint them gloss black or something :D
