HI MEMBERS I HAVE 170 PD TDI VRS AND MY CAR WOULDNT START AT WORK TODAY HEATER PLUG LIGHT FLASHING WHEN TURNING ENGINE OVER I HAD TO KEEP TURNING IGNITION ON- OFF FEW TIMES TO GET ENGINE WARM ENOUGHT TO START NEARLY KILLED BATTERY..

JUST HAD A PRICE FOR SUPPLY AND FIT £164.32 JUST FOR HEATER PLUGS. :( MY VAN COST £30 AND I DID THEM MYSELF..

IM NOT IMPRESSED THIS CARS ITS COST ME ALOT OF MONEY THIS YEAR IN MAINTENANCE SO MUCH FOR RELIABILITY BEGINING TO DISLIKE MY OCTI WE MIGHT SAVE MONEY ON THE BRAND BUT THE RUNNING COSTS ARE A RIPP OFF U MAY AS WELL BUY AUDI :'(

Might not be the glow plugs at all - You do realise that in cold weather you are supposed to turn the ignition on and then wait till the heater light goes out before cranking the engine otherwise the you get the symptoms you describe.

yes i do no that i was a diesel truck fitter for years cheers.. its defo heater plugs :yes:
