My VRS passed its MOT today and also had a service. I was advised the brake discs will need replacing all around soon - front and rear. They do look a bit crap at the back and the car makes a noise from the rear when braking (more so if brakes very hot and overused on a drive) so I knew this was coming.

The quote was about £320 all in for all four. Does this sound like a good quote as never had brakes done yet? This is from an independent mechanic and not a main Skoda dealer.

Rears are £39 for Mintex Discs and pads. Fronts are £120 for Mintex discs and pads, so parts £159 retail. Figure 2 hours at £60 an hour = £120 labor.

I make that £279. So not too bad, but could be done cheaper.
