Rallyflapz on Scout?

Featured Replies

I'm lookng at options for mudflaps on my new scout. Have seen the guide on modifying the Skoda flaps as detailed in the technical guides on here.

However, have also thought about getting a set of rallyflapz as they look as thought they'll be more effective. Has anyone done this and do they have any pics?

cheers

I have fitted the front gaurds on my Scout they fit perfectly and prevent mud from going up the doors, the rear gaurds are too much trouble to fit ,and anyhow the mud on rear of scout only goes on the plastic and is easy to hose off.I am not keen on rally flaps they can get trapped on kerbs etc and get ripped off.

There is a RallyFlapz kit for the Octavia vRS (as I guess you have found out) that I would expect will fit on the Scout. Ought to be very effective and look good.

Here are some pics of my vRS with them on; although I subsequently cut about 5-6cm off the length of the rear flapz so that they would not get caught between a kerb and the wheel (after I had done this and half ripped a flap off). However, with the higher ride height of the Scout I don't expect this to be an issue.

PS> I'm sorely tempted to get a set for my Yeti. I've just got to work out if there is a similarity between the Octavia and Yeti on the design & positioning of the bumpers/fixing screw positions.

what causes the trouble with the rears? does the plastic moulding overhang the arches? Is there a way to insert washers to get the flapz to sit straight?
