Hi all, just wondering what people have below the rear vents in the centre console as whatever was in my vRS is missing?

I have had a bit of search online and some seem to have a single little storage compartment, but know that it is possible to have a rear drinks holder and ashtray instead.

I have plenty of storage in the car so the rear drinks holder would be my choice but wondering what models have what?

iirc mines has an ashtray mate!

In mine its a small cubby, but you can retro fit the cup holder.

And how do you get hot air to come out of the vents? Had complaints from cold passengers. I suppose I could go and get the manual but it is freezing and flickering snow up in the Peak District...

The air temperature is governed by what air is coming out of the front vents, not sure if it is governed by the driver or front passenger side when dual zone climatronic is fitted. It might replicate the dual zone temperatures as set in the front. The duct to the rear vents is also common to the port that supplies air to the jumbo box.

It can also take a few minutes to get up/down to temperature as the air has to travel all the way down a plastic duct from the dash to the vents. The rear footwell vents also copy what the font footwell vents are doing too.

Remember to shut off the glovebox and jumbo box vents when the heating is on if you don't want things to overheat, I know from personal experience thanks to a liquified bar of Dairy Milk last winter

I did ask when i was on the phone with Skoda the other day how much it was for the ashtray and drink holder and got a nasty cut on my jaw as it hit the floor, when he said £50 lol. The housing has a crack at the bottom of mine so will be on the look out for a breaking octavia and should get all the bits i need for £20 max. Until then it can wait lol

Can anyone tell me if the centre consoles on all octavia's are black or do some have grey (prob few have cream but not exactly easily mixed up by someone if im asking for black).
