hi my 0 7 fabia vrs with 40k has started to jump out of 2nd and 4th gears,please help is this going to cost a fortune?6 months out of warranty should skoda help.

sorry did not understand the poll thing?i dont think its the clutch i would have noticed it slipping,it goes into first third no problem,someone must know what this is?

Won't be clutch, a clutch will slip, not disengage a gear, it is a seperate unit to the gearbox. Gears will jump out if the selectors or part of the selector mechanism is faulty, could possibly be selector adjustment.

Thanks for that,does that mean loads of £££ssss,or should skoda help out,who else has had this problem?should i keep driving with this,appreciate your help guys new to this.

I got a 2nd hand box for 260 quid.... Most go for around 400 quid

If you have to get a new box have a look for the hds box as thats the one ur after

Update on gearbox problem,well set off this morning at 8.30am gearbox still hard to engage 2nd after about quarter of an hour gearbox is working fine,how weird is this.I went to skoda dealers they said they have never heard of this before?it sounds as thou when the engine got up to temp the problem dissapeared anyone have any thoughts?.

if i was you then i'd let the engine warm up for a while before setting off. This may help the problem.
